Working across all sites of The Credit Valley Hospital and Trillium Health Centre ('the hospital") the Director, Technology Infrastrucutre Services will assume leadership responsibility for core information and communication technology functions within The Credit Valley Hospital and Trillium Health Centre - Information Services Division. You will drive improvements to systems availability and performance, servers and data centre operations, data storage, backup and recovery, computer networks and telecommunications, as well as financial stewardship of technology resources.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Director, Technology Infrastructure Services, your work will support the strategic decision-making of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), and the Information Services Leadership Team. As a senior member of the team, you will bring your innovative thinking and your acumen for problem-solving and relationship management. You will play a pivotal role in the building of the new Information Services Division and support the integration of the newly-merged hospital.
Through the development of a comprehensive Performance Management framework, based on ITIL Best Practices, you will measure, monitor and drive performance within your portfolio and across the Information Services Division. Working collaboratively with staff and leaders across all sites your job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Following ITIL best practices, continuously improving systems availability, performance and recoverability;
- Implementing security and change management best practices throughout IT operations, and standardizing technologies where applicable;
- Ensuring regular report(s) on compliance with all service agreements and mandates;
- Maintaining an appropriate lifecycle for centralized technology assets, within an ITIL-based framework;
- Effectively managing key assets, including data centres, servers, networks, voice systems against agreed SLAs, capacity and financial performance targets;
- Developing a work plan for achieving planned outcomes for this role (i.e. delivery of key technology projects for multi-site integration, staffing and budgetary plans, data centre and server base consolidation plan);
- Reporting progress and recommendations monthly to the CIO and IS Leadership Team;
- Liaising with staff and leadership within Information Services and across the Hospital;
- Building consensus as to staffing structures, operations governance and performance goals necessary to the achievement of planned outcomes;
- Developing and managing key relationships internally/externally, including vendor community;
- Participating in hospital, LHIN and other eHealth initiatives.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related degree required
- Preference given to Master"s level degree, complimented by significant exposure to information and technology in healthcare
- Certification in ITIL, or demonstrated knowledge of ITIL v3.
- Familiarity with commonly used healthcare applications and technology infrastructures (i.e. Windows servers, Mircrosoft BackOffice products, BizTalk Integration Engine, IBM WebSphere, Cisco Networking, EMC data storage, Meditech, Sunrise Clinical Manager)
- Demonstrated management in a complex environmentwitheffective interpersonal and negotiations skills including outstanding written and verbal communications skills
- Familiarity with public-sector procurement and exposure to eHealth an asset
- Experience in managing and leading projects
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in building consensus at the strategic level, ability to initiate, build and foster effective relationships and results-oriented
- Experience with active participation in business and organizational change, development/transformation plans and initiatives.
Position Location and Travel:
Travel among the 3 main sites of The Credit Valley Hospital and Trillium Health Centre, and the MH LHIN offices will be required.
