Employment robust for older workers in 2007

According to Statistics Canada 2007 was a great year for older workers in Canada. In December alone 17,000 more workers aged 55 and older were employed then the previous month. Overall for the year employment growth for the 55 and older population segment hit 7.7%. A stunning level of growth when compared to the national average for the year of 2.2% growth of new jobs.

Employers are increasingly turning to older workers for their experience and knowledge to fill the important gaps in the growing Canadian economy.

Retired Worker supports the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation

As many of you know, Retired Worker was inspired by the mother of co-founder Sarah Welstead. However, co-founder Max Stocker's mother, Karen Stocker, died of breast cancer in 2001.

In memory of Karen, Retired Worker will be donating $5 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation for every job posting purchased during February. Please help us honour mothers - and all women - by helping to spread the word!
